We are very excited that students of Our Lady of Victory School continue to gain imperative experience using technology with the Blended Learning Initiative.  Our school understands that teaching digital citizenship is an important step in this process. More and more resources continue to be introduced to the students as the program matures. Parents can help by staying informed and providing students with  guidelines at home, just as they have them in the classroom. 

What is Blended Learning?

• Blends technology-enhanced learning with face-to-face teaching to tailor instruction to the needs of the lesson and the student
• ​​​​Involves leveraging online resources to afford each student a more personalized learning experience
• Increased student control over the time, place, path, and/or pace of his or her learning.

What is station rotation? 

• Rotation model is a course or subject in which students rotate on a fixed schedule or at the teacher’s discretion between learning modalities, at least one of which is online learning. Other modalities might include activities such as small-group or full-class instruction, group projects, peer coaching and independent practice.

What are the benefits of blended learning?

• Research shows that students are using technology in their everyday lives.  They will be more engaged learners using devices they use every day.
• A blended learning environment prepares students for college and the workforce.
• ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Studies have found improved student achievement, increased student attendance, decreased student discipline issues, increased student engagement and attendance.
