Meet the Teacher:

My name is Yessenia Ramos. This is my 4th year in education and my third year as a teacher at Our Lady of Victory School. Over the years I have worked with children in grades Pre-Kindergarten through Second grade.  I started working at Our Lady of Victory school as a Pre-k floater, I’ve taught Pre-K 4, Kindergarten, and now I am excited to teach Pre-k 3. I love spending time with my kids and making arts and crafts in my spare time. 

Meet the Teacher Aide:
Ms. Nolemy has been at OLV for 3 years. She has been an aide in Prek-Orange for the last 2 years. We are lucky to continue to have her in our classroom!

Curriculum:

The curriculum used in Prek-3 is Frog Street Threes! This program was specifically designed for learners at the age of 3. There are 9 units that are implemented during the school year including various themes that pertain to our everyday lives such as; Awesome Me, My Family and Friends, Safe and Healthy, My School, Things that Move, and much more!

Our Pre-k students learn in a center-based environment. Our schedule includes two set times for learning centers. During this time students choose a center (Block center, home living center, science center, etc…) where they can explore our monthly theme in depth. This gives students the opportunity to dive into the topic we are learning. We also implement small-group instruction that focuses on literacy and math.
