My name is Mrs. Roberts, and I am thrilled to be working at Our Lady of Victory School. I am a proud Fordham graduate with a master’s degree in Early Childhood Education and am currently pursuing my doctorate in Educational Leadership while starting my School Building Leadership Certification. I have been teaching for eight years, and I truly enjoy teaching and learning. I love inspiring my students to become lifelong learners and believe in leading by example.
Teaching is my passion, and I take great joy in sharing my love for learning while nurturing young minds.
My Pedagogy of Teaching, I believe in a student-centered approach that emphasizes curiosity, hands-on exploration, and collaborative learning. My philosophy is rooted in the belief that children learn best when they are actively engaged, encouraged to ask questions, and given the tools to explore and discover their world.
Ms. Williams is our classroom assistant, she has been working with children in both public and private schools since 2008. In 2014 she joined the OLV family. She incorporates fun with the learning process, while she engages, interacts, and guides the students daily. The success of the students and their well being are of great importance to her. She truly loves pouring into the lives of young scholars and finds great joy in helping them reach their milestones.
Pre-K students need a supportive environment where they feel safe, valued, and inspired to learn. At this age, children thrive through structured play, routines, and activities that promote both social-emotional and academic growth. I aim to assist my students by providing opportunities to develop foundational skills such as problem-solving, communication, creativity, and self-regulation. Through interactive lessons and meaningful relationships, I strive to cultivate their love for learning while preparing them for kindergarten.
The curriculum we use here at Our Lady of Victory is DIG (Develop, Inspire, and Grow). I truly love this curriculum because it is not only engaging but also hands-on, allowing children to learn through play while focusing on age-appropriate instruction. DIG provides a balanced path to kindergarten readiness and covers all core subject areas: ELA, math, social studies, and science. It also includes opportunities for children to engage in exploratory play and develop essential skills.
In addition to DIG, I create supplemental assignments and activities to enhance learning opportunities. These activities are designed to build on the curriculum and address the unique interests and needs of my students. My goal is to make learning fun and impactful, ensuring each child is prepared to thrive both academically and socially.
